The long-pending demand for a student facilitation centre at the University of Pune (UoP) was fulfilled when acting vice chancellor SanjayChahande inaugurated the centre on Tuesday. Prafula Pawar will be the in-charge of the centre.
The centre will help students get their degree certificates, migration certificates, scholarships, attested photo copy of certificates and duplicate degree certificates. It will also accept applications for rank certificate, duplicate certificates, special degree certificates and other documents.
While talking to the media, UoP registrar ML Jadhav said, “The demand for the facilitation centre was pending due to lack of space. So, we converted the bungalow given to former public relation officer into the facilitation centre. Since it is located at the gate, it is easy for students to avail of the facilities. The facilitation centre will have an examination and a board of college and university development cell (BCUD).
Under the examination centre, students will be able to apply for migration certificates, scholarships and attested photo copy of certificates. For external students, the centre will accept applications for transfer certificates, passing certificates, duplicate registration certificates and bonafidecertificates, said Jadhav.
The entire system is online, so students can apply online and collect the desired document from the centre, he said. If a student is unaware of the online facility, he / she can avail of this facility at the centre. For attestation of the documents, a retired deputy registrar and two staff members have been appointed, he said. Bank facility has also been given to students to pay the fees through challan.
