JMRC invites online applications for staff

JAIPUR: The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) on Monday invited online applications for recruiting the staff for Jaipur Metro. The applicants can fill complete form online and the last date to submit the forms is October 30, 2012. JMRC managing director Nihal Chand Goyal said that 400 posts have been created.


Officials said there are 65 station controller posts, 102 train operator posts, posts for 50 junior engineers in civil, electrical, mechanical, and electronics. Also, 50 customer relations assistant would be employed to help the commuters. Other vacancies for fitter, electrician, electronics and refrigeration & AC have also been created.

 The written examination for the posts of station controller and train operator will be held on December 9. While, written examination for the remaining posts will be held on December 23. "The results will be declared in January 2013. Four to six months of training will be given to the selected candidates, " said Goyal.

 For the recruitment of station controller/train operator, the JMRC would conduct written test, psychometric test, interview and medical fitness. For junior engineers' post, candidates will face written test and medical fitness test, for customer relations assistant a candidate will pass through written test, interview and medical fitness.

 Indian Railways standards will be followed for medical test, Goyal said. The written test will be conducted at Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar and Udaipur. The JMRC claimed that reservation for different categories has been provided as per the reservation policy of government of Rajasthan. However, the JMRC has allowed only candidates under disabled category who have lost one leg (orthopedically one leg disabled). The blind, deaf and dumb candidates will not be allowed to apply because of safety reasons of passengers, train and employees.

 The JMRC officials said that the written test and other screening tests will be aimed at testing the skills of the candidates in language, general knowledge, general science, computer proficiency, quantitative aptitude, logical ability ad reasoning. Also, personality traits and job-related specific abilities will also be checked.
